Top 5 Bets for the Weekend: 3-4 August

The weekend is fast approaching and we have a couple of mouthwatering clashes across Europe. Here is a look at the Top 5 Bets for the Weekend. You can bet on football here.

Thun v Basel – Super League – Over 2.5 Goals – 1.55 – 3rd August

After qualifying for the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven, FC Basel will next face Thun on their third game of the league season. They lost against St. Gallen during their previous domestic match and they must react now. The home sides have a slight advantage but this should be an evenly matched contest. All of Basel’s last five outings have seen Over 2.5 Goals and the same is true in four of Thun’s last five. We expect to see a number of goals from this fixture as has been the norm.

Blackburn v Charlton – Championship – Home Win – 1.80 – 3rd August

Blackburn Rovers will start their Championship campaign against newly-promoted side Charlton Athletic this Saturday at Ewood Park. Rovers have had a positive pre-season with four wins and one draw. Tony Mowbray’s men have also won four of their last six Championship games and three of the last five against Charlton.

Liverpool v Man City – Community Shield – Both Teams Score – 1.70 – 4th August

Manchester City won everything in England last season and as such, they will be playing against the runners-up in the league, Liverpool in the Community Shield. The Reds have had less than a stellar pre-season. This is a sharp contrast to their opponents who have had an incredible pre-season. Both teams have found the net in three of the last four games of Liverpool and City. The last two encounters between the two teams saw both teams score and this will most likely be on the cards.

Bayern Munich v Dortmund – DFL Supercup – Bothe Teams to Score – 4th August

Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are set to square it out in the German Supercup at the Signal Iduna Park this weekend. Bayern Munich managed to win the Bundesliga last season at the expense of their rivals despite a bad start last season. Both teams have exceptional talents in attack and as such, they have seen Both Teams to Score landing in three of their last five meetings. The same is true in Dortmund’s last five outings and we should not expect any different here.

Benfica v Sporting – Portuguese Supercup – Both Teams Score – 1.80 – 4th August

Benfica will take on city rivals Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese Supercup as they both seek to start the campaign on a positive note. Sporting have raised this trophy eight times and won both national cups last season. Benfica’s pre-season started with a defeat against Anderlecht, but they responded with a four-game winning streak against Academica, Guadalajara, Fiorentina and AC Milan. Sporting, for their part, managed to win none of their friendly matches. Benfica managed to score in their last five games whilst Sporting managed to score in their last four against Benfica in the league.
