Things to look out for in European football: October 25-27

Holland’s De Klassieker, Roma v AC Milan and the Bundesliga title race are the highlights of this weekend’s football in Europe. Here are Things to look out for in European football: October 25-27. Bet on football here.

De Klassieker: Ajax v Feyenoord

Two of Netherlands successful clubs renew their heated and long-running rivalry on Sunday. Reigning champions Ajax are flying in the Eredivisie at the moment. They are top of the table with 26 points from ten games. Their arch-rivals, Feyenoord, are a distant tenth. However, league position and form don’t usually matter in this bitter rivalry. Last season, Feyenoord handed Ajax their heavies defeat in 55 years, thumping them 6-2. However, it’s Ajax who had the last laugh. They went on to complete of their best seasons, including winning the league for the first time in five seasons. Ajax last lost at home to Feyenoord in 2005. Can they continue this phenomenal run?

Clash of two underwhelming sides: AS Roma v AC Milan

Italian giants AS Roma and AC Milan have been disappointing this season and go head to head this weekend. Roma are sixth with 13 points while Milan are 12th with ten points. The former has a new coach in Paulo Fonseca who is yet to settle in Rome. His side have flattered to deceive. They have drawn their last two matches and won just once in their last four matches. Milan, on the other hand, have already fired head coach Marco Giampaolo after a terrible start to the season. They have lost three of their last five matches in the league and are three points off relegation. Who will win this battle of these two teams?

Nantes good form to continue?

It has been a fantastic start to the season for Nantes who sit second in Ligue 1, five points behind leaders PSG having won six games in their opening ten matches. On Friday, they face Monaco, a team that is recovering after a poor start to the season. They’ve won their last four home matches and are unbeaten in five. In all of those five home matches, they haven’t conceded a single goal. Much of that is owed to head coach Christian Gourcuff, who was appointed in August. Can they register another home win over Monaco?

Atletico Madrid to bounce back from three straight draws

Atletico Madrid have made a dodgy start to the season. They have drawn four of their last five La Liga matches. After winning their first three, they have won just one more. Although, they have lost just once, everything is far from smooth in Atletico. Diego Simeone and his side have a lot of work to do. After so many changes last summer, when new faces including teenager Joao Felix and Kieran Trippier arrived, they lack the cohesiveness associated with Atletico. Mainstays like Diego Godin, Rodrigo Hernandez and Antoine Griezmann departed last summer and it may take a while for them to play in Simeone’s way. They welcome Athletic Bilbao and hope to end a poor run of three successive draws.

Intriguing Bundesliga title race

Each club in Germany’s top flight has played eight matches so far, which is roughly a quarter of the campaign. However, the top of the Bundesliga is absolute mayhem. Borussia Monchengladbach are top of the table with 16 points and eight clubs are within two points of them which is bewildering. This weekend, giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund could find themselves in the top two or on the lower side of the top half. Based on what is happening in the Bundesliga so far, the title race and top-four races will likely be the most exciting of any of Europe’s top five leagues this season. How will it fare this weekend?
