MR. PREDICTOR'S FOOTBALL JACKPOT KING PREVIEW: JANUARY 18-19

Hi everyone, another weekend means another shot at glory! Here are some tips for the Football Jackpot King. Play the Football Jackpot King here.

Watford v Tottenham (Premier League)

Watford are looking up the table since the appointment of Nigel Pearson. They’ve won three in a row in the league and haven’t lost since the middle of December. Tottenham have lost twice in a row in the league and haven’t gained three points in the Premier League since Boxing Day. The Hornets beat Spurs at Vicarage Road last season and I think they will grab a point today. (X)

West Ham v Everton (Premier League)

Both of these teams changed managers recently, with West Ham bringing back David Moyes and Everton showing a bit more ambition with the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti. The Toffees won both fixtures against the Hammers last season and I think the same will happen today. (2)

Southampton v Wolves (Premier League)

The Saints are on fire right now! Four wins and no defeats in their last five Premier League games has seen Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side climb well away from the relegation zone. Wolves have lost their last two away games in the league and were beaten 3-1 at St Mary’s last season. (1)

Norwich v Bournemouth (Premier League)

Bournemouth are in all sorts of trouble right now. Four defeats in their last five games has seen them drop into the bottom three. Whilst the Canaries are not much better, they seem to have more fight than their opponents today. I’m backing a home win. (1)

Hoffenheim v Frankfurt (Bundesliga)

The Bundesliga returns from the winter break and this game should be one of the most entertaining. Hoffenheim had a bad break, as they lost their two friendlies. Eintracht Frankfurt have lost six of their last eight in all competitions and haven’t won since a 2-1 victory against Arsenal. I can see them cancelling each other out. (X)

Cologne v Wolfsburg (Bundesliga)

This might seem strange but Cologne are doing well at home. They’ve won three in a row at the RheinEnergieStadion and have beaten Wolfsburg in their last two matches at home. You’ve got to be bold to nail the jackpot! (1)

Birmingham v Cardiff (Championship)

This is a tough game to call. Cardiff are six points ahead of Birmingham but they lost on their last trip to St Andrew’s. Birmingham are in poor form with four defeats in a row in the Championship at home, however Cardiff lost 6-1 to QPR in their last away league game. I can’t split them, so I’m backing the draw. (X)

Derby v Hull (Championship)

This is another even game in the Championship. Derby have won twice in a row at home in the league, whilst Hull have the same record away. Hull won the previous meeting and I’m going to have a punt that they will do the double over the Rams this season. (2)

Genoa v Roma (Serie A)

Genoa may have won their last home game but they are still in big trouble. They’re in the drop zone having played a game more than Lecce above them. Roma’s away form is good enough. They’ve won three of their last five and will fancy themselves today. (2)

Real Betis v Real Sociedad (La Liga)

Sociedad are having a really good season. They start the weekend in fifth place and a good away record that includes three wins in their last five. They also beat Betis in their last two meetings. I think they will make it three today. (2)
