Champions League betting guide by Mr. Predictor

The sound of the famous Champions League anthem can be heard as we approach the first round of the Group Stage games. Here is my betting guide to the Champions League.

Liverpool v PSG – Tuesday 18 September – Champions League – BET HERE

What a game to have in the first round of fixtures! Liverpool were runners up last season and scored 41 goals in 13 games, which is an incredible figure. PSG, meanwhile, are the Ligue 1 champions and we all know they have the strikers to match Liverpool. However, they’ve lost three of their last five away games in the Champions League. Since the Reds have won seven of their last ten home games, I’m backing them to start with a win.

Match Tip: Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Liverpool 3 v 1 PSG

Inter Milan v Tottenham – Tuesday 18 September – Champions League – BET HERE

These teams produced some great matches when they last met in the Champions League in 2010. Inter won 4-3 at the San Siro, before losing 3-1 at White Hart Lane. Things have changed since then, though. The Nerazzurri haven’t been in the competition since 2011/12, while Spurs are regulars now and have won two of their three away games this season. I see an Away Win.

Match Tip: Tottenham Win
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Inter Milan 1 v 2 Tottenham

AS Monaco v Atletico – Tuesday 18 September – Champions League – BET HERE

Monaco simply have to do better than last season, when they came bottom of their group with two points. However, they haven’t won at home yet this season after a draw with Lille and defeat to Marseille. Atletico are the Europa League champions but they rarely give us goals. Five of their six group stage matches last year had Under 2.5 Goals, and I see the same here with an Away Win.

Match Tip: Under 2.5 Goals
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: AS Monaco 0 v 1 Atletico

Real Madrid v AS Roma – Wednesday 19 September – Champions League – BET HERE

The big question here: how will Real cope without Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane? Los Blancos won this trophy three times in a row with them, and Roma won’t be accommodating opponents. They reached the semi-finals last year, although they lost four of their six away matches. Real won 2-1 when these sides played in pre-season and I’m going for the same score.

Match Tip: Over 2.5 Goals
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Real Madrid 2 v 1 AS Roma

Valencia v Juventus – Wednesday 19 September – Champions League – BET HERE

Welcome back Valencia! Los Che return to the Champions League after a three-year absence, and they have a tough start. Juventus made the quarter-finals last season and now have added help in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Old Lady have won both of their away games this season in Serie A and seven of their past ten on the road in this tournament. I think Juventus will win this one.

Match Tip: Juventus Win
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Valencia 0 v 1 Juventus
