Big Game Focus: Inter Milan v Borussia Dortmund

Inter Milan will be hoping to take their first win of the 2019/20 Champions League campaign in their fixture with Borussia Dortmund tonight. Bet on the match here.

Inter have failed to win any of their last six Champions League games whereas Borussia Dortmund are yet to concede in the Champions League this season. The hosts have impressed since the arrival of Antonio Conte and they have scored a total of 18 goals from eight Serie A games this season. This leaves them with the second-highest goal scoring tally in the Serie A, only trailing Atalanta.

Dortmund have kept a clean sheet in seven of their last ten Champions League games but they have been far less impressive at the back domestically this season. Inter have not been at their best in Europe yet this season, though it would be a huge mistake to underestimate them.

Betting preview

Dortmund have won just two of their last six games and there is a good chance that they will struggle tonight against an Inter side desperate to register their first home win in the Champions League. Backing a Home Win Double Chance looks very likely and you can back that at odds of 1.35.

Both teams have scored in Inter Milan’s last four games in all competitions whilst both teams have scored in three of Dortmund’s last five games. With the attacking talents available to both sides, there is a good case for backing Both Teams to Score at odds of 1.65.

There have also been Over 2.5 Goals scored in all four of Inter Milan’s fixtures and the same is true for three of Borussia Dortmund’s last five outings in all competitions. You can back Over 2.5 Goals for decent returns at odds of 1.80.

Team news

Alexis Sanchez is a long-term absentee with a dislocated ankle so Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez are expected to start upfront. Danilo D’Ambrosio is also a doubt and Antonio Candreva should take his place on the right for Inter.

Paco Alcacer and Marco Reus are set to sit out for the visitors whilst Roman Burki has recovered from injury and will start between the sticks. Lucien Favre could partner Julian Brandt and Mario Gotze in attack.

Possible line ups

Inter Milan: Handanovic, Godin, Vrij, Skriniar, Candreva, Barella, Brozovic, Sensi, Asamoah, Martinez, Lukaku.

Borussia Dortmund: Burki, Hakimi, Akanji, Hummels, Guerreiro, Hazard, Delaney, Witsel, Sancho, Goetze, Brandt.
