Big Game Focus: Borussia Dortmund v Borussia Monchengladbach

Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach face each other in the DFB Pokal on Wednesday evening. Both will be desperate to get to the next round. Who will manage it?  Bet on football here.

The hosts have an incredible record against their visitors and they will be hoping to extend that. In each of their last nine meetings in the Bundesliga, Dortmund have come out on top, and we do not believe that the visitors are capable of putting an end to the negative trend.

Borussia Monchengladbach on the other hand are not regarded as good travelers, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money the home side. When they last met in the German top flight, Borussia Dortmund recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over their visitors.

Betting preview

Both teams have found the back of the net together in five of their previous eight games and there are many attacking options available to both sides. This makes odds of 1.55 for Both Teams to Score look really attractive.

Borussia Dortmund have won the last nine consecutive meetings between their opponents and they will be looking to make it ten tonight. This is very likely considering the home support and therefore you can back a Home Win at odds of 1.60.

Six of the last nine meetings between the two sides have ended on Over 2.5 Goals and there is a good chance this will be an open game. You can back Over2.5 Goals at odds of 1.50.

Team news

Marco Reus, Julian Brandt and Mario Gotze, who confirmed that he is fit to play despite suffering a hand injury, are all expected to feature in attack. Paco Alcacer is unlikely to be available. Marwin Hitz could continue in goal as well, ahead of Roman Burki.

For Gladbach, Matthias Ginter is unlikely to play as he works his way back to full fitness following a shoulder injury, while club captain Lars Stindl had been out since April after breaking his shin. Marcus Thuram, Laszlo Bene and Jordan Beyer could start at centre-back having come on at half-time against Frankfurt in place of the injured Tony Jantschke.

Possible line ups

Borussia Dortmund: Hitz, Piszczek, Akanji, Hummels, Schulz, Witsel, Delaney, Sancho, Reus, Hazard, Gotze.

Borussia Monchengladbach: Sommer, Lainer, Beyer, Elvedi, Wendt, Kramer, Zakaria, Herrmann, Benes, Neuhaus, Thuram
